A practicing Optometrist with more than two decades of clinical experience, Dr. Alex Kabiri, OD, is widely recognized as a national key opinion leader in dry eye, ocular surface disease, allergy, and glaucoma.
In addition to his association leadership, Dr. Kabiri is founder and president of myODce, an online continuing education platform for Optometrists, and creator of EyeCloud, a collaborative clinical atlas for eye care professionals. He also serves as Chief Medical Officer of Ophthalogix, and maintains an active clinical practice across several ophthalmology groups in New York.
Dr. Kabiri also serves as Chief Medical Officer of Optometry for the American Amnion Association, where he advances education, research, and clinical awareness of birth tissue applications in eye care.
Dr. Kabiri has served on advisory boards for leading pharmaceutical and device companies—including Bausch & Lomb, Ophthalogix and Novoxel—where he has contributed to product development, clinical strategy, and training initiatives. An accomplished international lecturer, he has delivered CME programs, hands-on workshops, and industry presentations across the United States, Europe, Latin America, and Canada.
He has also served as an adjunct clinical professor at SUNY College of Optometry, mentoring fourth-year externs in advanced patient care. His published work spans Review of Optometry and the Journal of Ophthalmology & Therapeutics, covering systemic links to dry eye, glaucoma therapy, and amniotic membrane applications in Optometry.
